The 3D printed house is planned to be in Bosrijk. Bosrijk is a new residential location in Eindhoven. The development of Bosrijk has high ambitions when it comes to sustainability and spatial and architectural quality. Bosrijk is the first location in Eindhoven that is not connected to the natural gas grid.
In Bosrijk is a particularly green space to live, being located in the middle of the Meerbos, Park Meerland, and the Beatrix Canal. The existing landscape is the starting point for the development towards a residential area. The landscape has the leading role. Living within this landscape will be shaped as 'images in a sculpture garden'. The space around the houses is in fact the garden for the inhabitants of Bosrijk.
Cluster 16 is the place where a series of 3D concrete printed houses will be realized in the coming years. Cluster 16 is a ‘mini’ cluster within Bosrijk, spicing up the new residential area. Particularly for this place the municipality was looking for an out-of-the-box concept, which expresses the innovative and explicit aspects of Bosrijk. The cluster is situated along the corner ofthe Sliffertsestraat, the Bosfazant and the Bosuil and, because the whole is surrounded by trees, a 'green room' in the landscape.
